The yes men of Venus

"The Yes Men of Venus" by Ron Goulart is a science fiction story building on the imaginary world of Arthur Wright Beemis. Join Hyacinth Robinson and Joel Lars as they journey across the bizarre landscapes of Venus and Mars; after a chaotic start involving a Zeppelin accident and a giant clam, Hyacinth meets Lowell Hawthorne, who believes he can contact someone inside Venus, and Hawthorne shares stories of reincarnation and gladiator-like combats on Mars with Hyacinth soon after this. The story then shifts to the romantic pursuit from Joel Lars, who tells of his cherished Virl Yank, who is imprisoned by the villainous Yes Men of Venus, which drives the characters into situations that expose the meaning of masculinity.
