"The Carved Lions" by Mrs. Molesworth is a tale told through the eyes of Geraldine, a young girl looking back on her transforming childhood. This narrative explores themes of remembrance, the purity of youth, and the unsettling realities of change when her family's stability is challenged by an opportunity for her father to work abroad. Geraldine recalls her playful adventures with her brother Haddie, emphasizing their close bond and the symbolic carved lions from a local shop, which represent their imaginative world.
