Renshaw Fanning's Quest: A Tale of the High Veldt

"Renshaw Fanning's Quest: A Tale of the High Veldt" by Bertram Mitford is a late 19th-century story about Renshaw Fanning, a man facing tough times, a difficult drought, and failing health on his South African farm. After a harsh rejection, Renshaw finds his world upended even further as misfortune mounts. As the land reflects his own despair, a stranger named Maurice Sellon appears, setting the scene for an unlikely partnership and the chance for riches. Together, the men embark on a dangerous journey to find a treasure that lies hidden in a place known as the "Valley of the Eye," a place said to bring immense joy and unimaginable riches to the worthy. This quest becomes a test of their friendship and courage as they deal with many issues that try to dissuade them from reaching their hopeful and plentiful goal.
