Summary

"The Way of an Indian" by Frederic Remington is a story set in the late 1800s, about a young Native American named White Otter. He feels like he doesn't measure up and really wants to be known as a brave warrior. He thinks a lot about his ancestors and how strong they were, and he wants to be just like them. His friends going off to war makes him want that even more. After a special night where he prays for help, a magical bat appears to him, promising to guide him and give him strength. This is just the beginning of White Otter's path, where he'll have to face tough battles, figure out who he really is and what his people expect of him.
