Summary

"Brknk's Bounty" by Jerry Sohl is a science fiction tale about Larry Weaver, an ex-journalist whose life takes an extraordinary turn upon meeting Trlk, a tiny extraterrestrial with huge dreams. The story looks at ideas of imagination, finding oneself, and what happens when people and aliens come together, as Trlk uses Larry to get his stories out there, changing both of their lives forever. Their strange friendship takes them on a funny and surprising journey. After not doing so well as a writer, Larry is taught by Trlk about a world full of crazy adventures and strange ideas. Because of their teamwork, unusual aliens notice Larry and give him a weird gift: a tail. This surprising change makes Larry rethink what success means to him, while also accepting his new life in the circus. The story mixes humor and fun with important lessons about being yourself and not caring about what society thinks.
