"In Self-defense" by W. C. Tuttle is a funny story set in the cowboy days. Follow Ren Merton and Sig Watson, two buddies who ditch their cowboy jobs to start a business. When Matilda and Rosalind arrive, Ren and Sig are interested, which starts a series of funny situations, including a staged hold-up that doesn't go as planned. The story is about friendship, love, and the funny things that happen in small towns. Many things are miscommunicated, which turns into slapstick events, romance and surprising news about who people really are, especially when Ren's secret money makes things more complicated in Piperock.
