Summary

"Frank Allen and His Motor Boat; or, Racing to Save a Life" by Graham B. Forbes is an adventure story for kids, set in the early 1900s. It’s about a young boy named Frank Allen and his buddy, Lanky Wallace, who zoom around on the Harrapin River with their boat. The book kicks off with Frank and Lanky testing out Frank’s brand-new motorboat, called the Rocket, given to him by Lanky’s dad. Right away their fun is interrupted by boat problems and also a boating rival named Cunningham and his boat, the Speedaway. Things get really interesting when the boys hear someone screaming near the Parsons’ place, which then sends them on a wild chase involving missing items and dangerous folks and changes their summer plans
