Summary

"Sentiment, Inc." by Poul Anderson is a science fiction story that focuses on how technology can mess with feelings and connections between people. It's about Colin Fraser, who's an engineer, and Judy Harkness, a young actress. Judy's life gets twisted around by Dr. Robert Kennedy and his special machine at a place called Sentiment, Inc., which can change how people feel. When Judy suddenly decides to marry a rich guy named Matthew Snyder, Colin thinks something fishy is going on. He tries to find out what's really happening with Judy and how Kennedy's machine works. He figures out that it's all about controlling emotions and messing with people's minds, which brings up big questions about right and wrong. Colin ends up in a showdown with Kennedy, where things get serious for everyone, leading to a big decision about whether people can really choose how they feel and whether emotions are real.
