Summary

"The Lost Door" by Dorothy Quick is a ghostly mystery from the 1930s that deals with love, fate, and the pull of what has gone before, all taking place in a big French castle. Jim, who is next in line to inherit Rougemont, and his friend Wrexler show up at the castle and quickly get caught up in the haunting history there. Jim's dad left him the castle, but his dad had a troubling past with Helene d'Harcourt, who is forever bound to haunt the place as a ghost. Wrexler finds himself super interested in Helene and even sees her ghost. As Wrexler gets more and more wrapped up in Helene, he finds out about her sad story and the risks that come with her love and what she left behind. The story ends with Wrexler finding out that the only way he can be happy with Helene is to solve the secret of the Lost Door, which decides what happens to him, leaving Jim to try and understand what happened during their adventure.
