"Jacqueline — Volume 2" by Th. Bentzon is a story set in a time when love and marriage were influenced by society; it follows Jacqueline as she navigates growing up and her relationships with those around her. We watch as she makes friends and steps into her own, joining a group of girls called the "Blue Band", where they enjoy each other's company, visit the beach and chat with boys; however, because Jacqueline is so likeable and fun to be around, she begins to draw the attention of the suitors, which makes her stepmother, Madame de Nailles, nervous. Fred, a boy who grew up with Jacqueline, becomes increasingly jealous as he watches her spend time with the Count de Cymier and other guys. As Jacqueline explores these connections, she challenges love and social roles.
