Age of anxiety

"Age of Anxiety" by Robert Silverberg is a tale set in a future where kids take a drug that makes them not worry, follows Larry as he turns seventeen and must decide if he wants to keep taking the drug, go back to being a kid, or face the real world. Larry goes on a journey to understand what it means to worry and be responsible. He learns from different people that worrying is actually a sign that he's ready to grow up and face challenges. He decides to accept the difficulties of adulthood with confidence, which brings up interesting questions about whether being happy all the time is worth it and what it really means to grow up.
