Summary

"The Kempton-Wace Letters" by Jack London and Anna Strunsky Walling is a story told through letters between Dane Kempton and Herbert Wace, who have very different ideas about love and marriage. Kempton is all about the feelings and poetry of love, wanting deep emotional connections. Wace, but he thinks about love in a more practical way, focusing on society and money. As they write back and forth to each other, they touch on big ideas like whether love should be based on emotions or logic, and how our beliefs shape who we are. The story kicks off when Kempton questions Wace's engagement, hoping for more than just a sensible partnership and setting the stage for an intense look at what love really means and how it affects us all.
