Summary

"Black No More" by George S. Schuyler is a satirical story set in the mid-20th century, following Max Disher, a black man yearning for a life untouched by racial prejudice. Tired of the social barriers and heartbroken from a past love, Max hears of a new medical procedure invented by Dr. Junius Crookman, a black scientist, which can turn black people white. Seeing this as his chance to finally be happy, Max decides to undergo the transformation, hoping to gain acceptance and a love from a white woman that was once unattainable. His journey raises questions about race and social dynamics in a world where skin color dictates destiny.
