Summary

"Linda Lee, Incorporated: A Novel" by Louis Joseph Vance is a story set in the early 1900's, and introduces us to Lucinda Druce, a married woman caught between her husband, Bellamy, and her old flame, Richard Daubeney. The book uses lively conversations and a diverse group of people to dig into topics like love, cheating, and what society expected back then. As Lucinda chats with her friend Dobbin, it becomes clear that her marriage isn't so simple, especially since Dobbin still has feelings for her. The story shows Lucinda's strong love for Bellamy, but also hints at trouble through her observations of his actions. The opening part gets ready to really examine Lucinda's inner struggles, how she deals with others, and the problems she faces in the world of the 1920s.
