Summary

"At the Crossroads" by Harriet T. Comstock is a story about Brace Northrup, a man trying to find himself after being sick. Feeling lost and unsure of what to do with his life, he talks to his friend Doctor Manly, who encourages him to leave his old life behind and go out into the world. Brace takes this advice and soon finds himself at a crossroads, both in his journey and in his life. It is there that he sees a little yellow house and meets Mary-Clare, a woman who seems important to his journey. The story explores themes of love and identity. It follows Northrup as he tries to understand who he is and how his choices affect his relationships.
