Summary

"Three Plays" by A. A. Milne is a compilation of plays that examines early 20th-century life. Ambition, interpersonal dynamics, and what society expects are on full display as characters deal with tough situations and challenging relationships. "The Great Broxopp" tells the story of a man who wants to do more than just advertising, while also struggling with family issues that come about because of his job. The play opens by showing the main character, Broxopp, and his wife, Nancy, living without much money. Broxopp wants to make advertising an art form. As he hunts for success their conversations show that they love each other very much while also they demonstrate financial difficulties. Their kind joking and commitment to backing each other sets a stage for Broxopp's journey as he wants to get acknowledgment and do well through his gift for ads.
