Summary

"Palos of the Dog Star Pack" by J. U. Giesy is a science fiction novel that begins with Dr. George Murray, a psychologist, getting involved in the strange case of Jason Croft, a man stuck in a cataleptic state. The story explores themes of astral projection and the link between mind and body, starting when a worried housekeeper gets Dr. Murray to check on Mr. Croft, who has been "asleep" for many days because of a stormy night. Dr. Murray learns that Croft was trying to study the soul and consciousness, and astral travel, hinting that Croft can send his essence to the planet Palos, which makes Murray's involvement more complicated.
