Summary

"The Twins of Emu Plains" by Mary Grant Bruce is an early 20th-century story focused on twin sisters Jean and Jo Weston, and their journey through the ups and downs of school, sports, and their family's money problems. It kicks off with a thrilling tennis match where, against the odds, Jean and Jo find their groove and clinch a win, showing off their lively personalities and close bond. However, it also hints at the worry caused by their father's financial struggles, foreshadowing the big changes they will soon face as they leave school and step up to support their family. A letter arrives, spelling out the troubles at home and solidifying their determination to help their father. This sets the scene for their struggle to juggle their dreams with their new responsibilities.
