"Salome" by Emma Marshall is a story set in the late 1800s about a young woman whose privileged life is shattered when her family faces financial and emotional hardships. Fifteen-year-old Salome lives with her family at Maplestone Court, but their peaceful existence is upended by money problems that force Salome to mature quickly and take on responsibilities she never expected.
