Summary

"The Lord of Dynevor: A Tale of the Times of Edward the First" by Evelyn Everett-Green is a story that takes place during the late 1800s about the Dynevor family, mainly Prince Wendot and his brothers, as they deal with difficult situations involving loyalty, respect, and the issues between the Welsh and English during a chaotic time. With patriotism, family ties, and independence as notable topics, the brothers face a conflict that puts their bravery and beliefs to the test. Initially, Wendot and his brothers are introduced at Dynevor Castle where the boys are hunting carefree but are soon faced with conflict as they hear news of the English arriving to the castle. As Wendot makes a friend out of Lady Gertrude Cherleton, relations strain, especially with Llewelyn, who carries strong nationalistic feelings. The beginning sets the stage for an exciting adventure, showing loyalty, family, and the effects of conflict.
