Summary

"Trimblerigg: A Book of Revelation" by Laurence Housman is a story from the early 1900s about how someone finds themself, exploring what people believe, what's right and wrong, and the tricky parts of family connections in religion. The book starts by showing how Jonathan Trimblerigg is affected by his family and what they believe, and the reader sees that even though he's smart, he often does things for himself that go against what he's taught. The story looks at Trimblerigg's childhood, like when he tries too hard to get his family to like him, which hints at him becoming a minister later on; also, his relationships with his sister Davidina and Uncle Phineas expose a side of him that is competitive and not always honest, as he deals with what others want from him while also figuring out who he wants to be.
