Summary

"Ward Hill, the Senior" by Everett T. (Everett Titsworth) Tomlinson is a story about growing up in the late 1800s that follows Ward Hill as he goes back to Weston school, ready to change after a rough year. The book is all about the ups and downs of being a teenager, testing friendships, sticking to your friends, and how everyone gets along at school. Right from the start, you see Ward waiting for his buddy at the train station, thinking about how he messed up the year before when he went to Weston, and how alone he felt. He can't wait for his friend Jack Hobart to get there, The story shows how Ward had trouble getting along with other students, especially Tim Pickard, who causes lots of problems. Ward starts to figure out who he really is as he deals with his past, what his friends expect from him, and all the drama that comes with school.
