Summary

"Peggy from Kerry" by L. T. Meade recounts the tale of Peggy Desmond, a young Irish girl uprooted from her simple life in County Kerry after her father's passing and thrust into the sophisticated world of the English Wyndham family. The story is told from multiple perspectives, showing the reader the inner conflict of both the Wyndham’s and Peggy, who leaves her home and life behind. It shows Peggy's confusion and hesitation in leaving everything she knows as she goes to live with strangers. It explores Peggy's attempts to adjust to a completely new environment while dealing with expectations that clash with her upbringing.
