Summary

"What Will He Do with It? — Volume 12" by Edward Bulwer Lytton is a novel exploring themes of social pressure, personal responsibility, and how love connects with family history, mainly concerning Guy Darrell. Haunted by past choices about honor and family, Guy Darrell wrestles with his ego as it impacts others like Lionel and Sophy. The story starts by introducing us to different people and creating a tense atmosphere around the results of marriage, social class, and family connections. Because his marriage to Sophy could stain his bloodline, Guy Darrell struggles with his emotions as Lionel longs for Sophy's love, and his own stubbornness creates problems amongst his loved ones and friends and George Morley debates with Darrell about good and evil as the conflict between what society expects and what people want causes a dilemma that could change everything.
