Summary

"Orville College: A Story" by Henry Wood is a 19th-century tale that follows young boys at a boarding school as they deal with friendships, schoolwork, and personal troubles. The book begins at Orville College where students like Dick Loftus and a newcomer named George Paradyne are getting back from break. Dr. Brabazon, the headmaster, seems nice, but some of the students, especially Loftus, act proud and cause problems. Soon after the term starts, James Talbot, a student, is shot, leading to suspicion and conflict as the boys struggle with right and wrong, family expectations, and the effects of their pasts.
