Summary

"The Big Mogul" by Joseph C. Lincoln is a story set in a small town focusing on Foster Townsend, a rich but lonely man, now a widower, as he decides whether to invite his niece, Esther, to live with him. Years earlier, tragedy struck Esther's life when her parents died, and after that she was raised by her aunt. The book shows family issues, pride, and how people deal with each other. We meet Foster in his library, remembering his wife and their life together, trying to figure out how to change his empty life, which leads him to contact Esther. The story shows Foster's character, presenting his caring but blunt attitude and his need for someone to be with, along with his concerns about making his niece comfortable, and leaving the all wondering what will happen with the family when they are together.
