Summary

"The Birds' Christmas Carol" by Kate Douglas Smith Wiggin is a touching story for young readers set in the early 1900s, focusing on love and giving at Christmas time. The book tells the story of Carol, a girl born on Christmas, whose kind heart shines even though she doesn’t have good health. When she gets really sick and has to stay in bed, she still stays happy and wants to share joy, especially with her poor neighbors, the Ruggles family. As Christmas gets closer, Carol plans a special dinner for the Ruggles kids to show them the real meaning of Christmas. At the end of the day, full of love and happiness, Carol dies peacefully on Christmas night, leaving behind a legacy of kindness that touches everyone who knew her.
