Summary

"Zelda Dameron" by Meredith Nicholson is a story that follows Zelda Dameron as she comes back to her hometown after being away for five years with her aunt, creating a mood filled with complicated family issues, what society expects, and stress about her not-so-great relationship with her dad. When the book starts, Zelda is getting back into life in her town, seeing her family, and meeting people she knows again. Right away, we see her talking with her Uncle Rodney and Aunt Julia, who both want what's best for her, especially when it comes to her dad, Ezra Dameron. Their relationship has a lot of hidden history and feelings, and Zelda is trying to figure out her new life while dealing with her dad's past and trying to be her own person. The push and pull between being part of her family and wanting to be free sets the stage for the problems she will face.
