Summary

"The Motor Boys Bound for Home; or, Ned, Bob and Jerry on the Wrecked Troopship" by Clarence Young is a tale of adventure where three young men, Ned, Bob, and Jerry, face unexpected peril on their voyage home from war. The story begins aboard the transport ship "Sherman," carrying them away from Brest, France, and toward their eagerly awaited homecoming. The atmosphere of celebration quickly turns to one of suspicion and alarm when the ship abruptly reverses course due to a supposed mechanical problem. The resourceful Jerry suspects foul play by a shadowy character known as "le cochon," setting the stage for deeper intrigue. Before long, an explosion rocks the engine room, leaving the troopship disabled at sea, and plunging the boys into a perplexing mystery as they brace themselves for whatever comes next.
