"My Lady of the North" by Randall Parrish is set during the American Civil War, and tells the story of Captain Philip Wayne, a Confederate officer entrusted with a vital mission to deliver a message to General Longstreet. Along the way, he faces dangerous battles and develops complicated relationships, mostly with a woman named Mrs. Brennan whom he meets in the tumult. At the beginning of the journey, Captain Wayne is given this important task by General Lee, and the plot quickly becomes a race against time. He begins his travels with Sergeant Craig, displaying their strong friendship and loyalty, when they come across a woman who now depends on them. As they maneuver through dangerous situations, Captain Wayne must deal with his duty to his army and unexpected human connections in the war.
