The long question

"The Long Question" by David Mason is a science fiction novella about a mind-bending quiz show. Don Gerson, an accountant, decides to spend two months alone on an island, preparing for a quiz that could make him rich. The story is about being alone, finding yourself, and how time changes what you think is important. At first, Don is all about studying and sticking to his routine. But as the weeks pass, he starts to lose it, forgetting time and just enjoying being free. This big change turns Don into a thinker, causing him to reflect on his life and really figure out what he wants, all while dealing with how time can totally change a person's path.
