Summary

"Ponteach; Or, The Savages of America" by Robert Rogers is a play set in a time when Native Americans and English settlers were in conflict. The story follows Ponteach, an Indian leader, as he tries to unite different tribes to fight against the English settlers who are taking over their land. Two traders are introduced at the beginning and are planning to cheat the Native Americans, showing how unfairly the settlers treat the Indigenous people. This sets up the main problem of the play, which is about the struggle for power and the bad things that happen when one group tries to control another.
