Summary

"Rienzi, the Last of the Roman Tribunes" by Sir Edward Bulwer Lytton is a story set in the 1300s, about a guy named Cola di Rienzi who wants big changes in Rome. He notices Rome isn't a fair place, with rich families causing trouble for everyone else, so young Cola dreams of a better world. After something awful happens to his brother, Cola gets super serious about making things right and fights for the normal people against powerful leaders. Starting as someone who just thinks about what could be, Cola grows into a strong leader who wants to shake things up in Rome's government.

About the Author

Edward George Earle Lytton Bulwer-Lytton, 1st Baron Lytton,, was an English writer and politician. He served as a Whig member of Parliament from 1831 to 1841 and a Conservative from 1851 to 1866. He was Secretary of State for the Colonies from June 1858 to June 1859, choosing Richard Clement Moody as founder of British Columbia. He was created Baron Lytton of Knebworth in 1866.
