Summary

"The Lady of the Shroud" by Bram Stoker is a story from the late 1800s that mixes spooky and mysterious happenings with family drama and what people leave behind when they die. It's all about people tied together by Roger Melton's will and a creepy ghost sighting on the water. It kicks off with a weird scene: a ship from the Italia Steamship Company finds a woman floating in something that looks like a coffin. She's covered up and seems dead. This strange sight makes everyone curious and worried, leading into the story of Roger Melton's will and how it connects his family to others. The beginning looks at how important family reputation and being well-off are, and how tricky relationships can be, which all become important as the story unfolds. Get ready for a tale full of secrets, big dreams, and maybe even some ghosts, as the will's effects start to show.
