Summary

"The Haunted and the Haunters; Or, The House and the Brain" by Edward Bulwer Lytton Lytton is a spooky Victorian story that looks into the strange things happening in a London house rumored to be haunted. The main character, who doesn’t say his name, is curious about the stories he hears about the house after his friend has a scary experience. He decides to rent the house with his servant to figure out what’s going on. As they stay there, weird stuff happens, like seeing ghosts and hearing creepy noises, which makes him question what’s real and what’s not. He gets really scared but tries to understand if the ghosts are real and if something powerful is controlling them. He figures out that the house has a dark past and that the ghosts are tied to bad things that happened before, making him think the haunting has more to do with real-life events than just ghosts.
