Summary

"When We Were Very Young" by A. A. Milne is a collection of poems that celebrates the sweetness and wonder of being a child. These verses paint pictures of a world seen through youthful eyes, where everyday activities become grand adventures and imagination knows no bounds. Inspired by the author's own son, Christopher Robin, the poems explore simple joys like feeding elephants at the zoo and marveling at the beauty of a spring day, alongside playful stories of teddy bears and other talking animals. The poems reveal the importance of play, the excitement of discovery, and the unique perspective that makes childhood such a special time, creating a collection that resonates with readers of all ages.

About the Author

Alan Alexander Milne was an English writer best known for his books about the teddy bear Winnie-the-Pooh, as well as for children's poetry.
