Summary

"Exultations" by Ezra Pound is a collection of poems embodying early 20th-century thought. Pound's work shines with explorations of beauty, conflict, and affection through an original lens. Reflecting a profound respect for artistry and the depth of human living, the poems journey across historical touchstones and emotional intensity. Pound uses free verse alongside structured forms in his poems, speaking to themes of love's bittersweet pain, the excitement of combat, and thoughtful portraits of figures like Columbus and Bertrans de Born. Each poem uses intense lyrical skill, connecting striking images with thoughtful reflections. Highlighting both personal and shared challenges, Pound shows the core of the human condition, calling readers into a vibrant mix of emotion and reflection.
