Summary

"Among the Scented Ones" by Basil Wells is a science fiction story set in the 1940's that throws readers onto the steamy jungle planet Saaar, where Terrans, fleeing a troubled home world, collide with the native, scent-sensitive Garros. Facing the dangers of this primitive world, Besan Wur, along with comrades Nard Rost and Relsa Dav, narrowly escape a stampede of massive creatures only to be captured by savage humanoids. Besan struggles with his identity as a Terran while navigating the complex landscape of love given clashing desires and the brutal struggle for survival. Ultimately, loyalty is tested as they must band together in a desperate bid for freedom and a return to the Garro civilization.
