Summary

"Queen of the Blue World" by Basil Wells is a thrilling science fiction story about Martians facing dangers on Earth. After the Martian ship "Indra" crashes on Earth, also called Soora, a determined officer named Rurak Dun sets out to find the missing Prince Hudar Kel, who disappeared seventeen years ago. Rurak lands in Earth's unfamiliar swamplands, where he meets Nitha Kel, the prince's daughter, and discovers that her father is still alive but in danger from the villainous Jokar Ged. Together, Rurak and Nitha brave hostile creatures like the wild Yzaps and the grotesque thuftars and fight against Jokar's forces as they struggle to reunite with the prince and eventually try to return to their home planet of Mars, racing against time for the new emperor's crowning. It’s a high-stakes adventure of survival on an alien planet.

About the Author

Basil Eugene Wells was an American writer. His first published story, "Rebirth of Man" appeared in the magazine Super Science Stories in 1940. He wrote science fiction, fantasy western and detective stories for various magazines sometimes under the name Gene Ellerman. Two collections of his stories, Planets of Adventure and Doorways to Space were published by Fantasy Publishing Company, Inc.
