Rebecca's Promise

"Rebecca's Promise" by Frances R. (Frances Roberta) Sterrett is a heartwarming story about Rebecca Mary Wyman, a schoolteacher who yearns for a life beyond her simple means. The tale begins at a tea room where Rebecca confronts her dissatisfaction with her social and financial limitations. A chance meeting with a sweet child named Joan, who gifts her violets, and an encounter with Peter Simmons, a decorated war hero, stir within her feelings of envy and longing. Fueled by these experiences, Rebecca embarks on a path of self-discovery, where she learns the value of cherishing life’s moments through what she calls "memory insurance," choosing joy over future anxieties.
