Summary

"T. Tembarom" by Frances Hodgson Burnett is a story set in the late 1800's about a young boy named Temple Barom, or Tembarom, who becomes an orphan and must overcome loneliness and poverty in Brooklyn. Tembarom shows strength and hope as he does different jobs and makes friends in the city. Starting as a newsboy, he works hard and eventually finds a job at a newspaper. His friendly personality helps him connect with people, including a young woman, Little Ann Hutchinson, who becomes a person he cares about as he continues on his path to success.

About the Author

Frances Eliza Hodgson Burnett was a British-American novelist and playwright. She is best known for the three children's novels Little Lord Fauntleroy (1886), A Little Princess (1905), and The Secret Garden (1911).
