Summary

"The Young Train Master" by Burton Egbert Stevenson is a story about Allan West's rise in the railroad world. He becomes the chief dispatcher for the Ohio Division of the P. & O. railway. The book follows Allan as he deals with tough situations at work and his relationships. The story starts in Wadsworth, Ohio, where Allan has made a nice life for himself. One pretty October evening, Allan is excited to see his childhood friend, Mamie, who has been traveling and soon, celebrates his eight years at the railroad. About the Author

Burton Egbert Stevenson (1872–1962) was an American author, anthologist, and librarian. He was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on 9 November 1872, and attended Princeton University 1890–1893.
