Summary

"Gray Youth: The Story of a Very Modern Courtship and a Very Modern Marriage" by Oliver Onions is a book that follows Amory Towers, a budding artist, as she journeys through love, art, and discovering who she is. The story starts with Amory's first trip to Paris, where she's deeply inspired by art and experiences her first kiss, showing her hopes and the disappointments that may come. Back in London, Amory balances her life at the McGrath with her relationships with friends like "Uncle George" and Dorothy, and with trying to meet societal expectations while chasing her artistic goals. The beginning of Amory's story focuses on her thinking about her dreams as an artist, her friendships, and the challenges of becoming an adult, all set in a lively and sometimes overwhelming world.
