"Our Show" by David Solis Cohen and H.B. Sommer, is a comical story about the International Exposition in Philadelphia that celebrated 100 years since America became independent. It tells the story of some of the funny things that happened before, during, and after the big event using funny characters and laughable situations. It starts with a funny take on old historical events, like how Christopher Columbus arrived, before moving to the excitement surrounding the 1876 Centennial Exposition and humorously covers all of the work leading up to the exposition, looking at the people involved in preparing the event, like women raising money and odd contractors, all depicted through a mix of seriousness and silliness. A playful tone is kept for the arrival of different important people and nations, leading to an exploration of American pride during the birthday celebration.
