Uncle Wiggily in the Woods

"Uncle Wiggily in the Woods" by Howard Roger Garis is a series of charming tales about Uncle Wiggily Longears, a friendly rabbit, and his caretaker, Nurse Jane Fuzzy Wuzzy, as they journey through the forest, encountering various animal friends and foes. The rabbit gentleman intends on spending summertime experiencing thrilling forest adventures near his hollow stump home. In the opening story, Uncle Wiggily uses his quick thinking to get himself out of the clutches of the skillery-scalery alligators using only a willow branch turned whistle. The stories often highlight the importance of generosity, cleverness, and collaboration through lighthearted adventures that entertain and teach valuable life lessons.
