Motor Matt's Mariner; or, Filling the Bill for Bunce

"Motor Matt's Mariner; or, Filling the Bill for Bunce" by Stanley R. Matthews is an early 20th-century action story about Motor Matt and his friend Joe McGlory, who get caught up in a wild hunt for a stolen ruby called the Eye of Buddha. The thief, Philo Grattan, and his partner, Bunce, kick off a series of adventures packed with motor vehicles and surprising turns. It all begins when Matt and Joe see a movie that mirrors a real jewel theft they know about, making them wonder about a mandarin named Tsan Ti, who trusted them with the ruby. As they start looking into Bunce and Grattan, they uncover a treacherous scheme that puts them and the gem in even more danger.
