The Plastic Age

"The Plastic Age" by Percy Marks is a book about a young man named Hugh Carver learning to live his new life as a freshman at Sanford College. Hugh has to learn how to make friends, deal with the difficulties of school, and figure out relationships. Hugh gets to his college and meets his new roommate, Carl Peters, who is very different from him. As readers follow Hugh, they will get a glimpse into the social pressures brought on by upperclassmen, and the competitive spirit throughout the college. Hugh needs to figure out who he is and what he wants out of life.
