Summary

"The Little People of the Snow" by William Cullen Bryant is a poetic fairytale from the 1870s that teaches about nature and right and wrong for kids. It follows Eva, a little girl, as she finds a snow maiden and goes with her to a secret world full of snow people against her mother's wishes. Sadly, Eva gets too cold and dies, even though her parents try to save her. After she is gone, the snow people disappear, showing the end of magic in the real world.

About the Author

William Cullen Bryant was an American romantic poet, journalist, and long-time editor of the New York Evening Post. Born in Massachusetts, he started his career as a lawyer but showed an interest in poetry early in his life.
