"The Village in the Mountains; Conversion of Peter Bayssière; and History of a Bible" by Sampson Vryling Stoddard Wilder is a story from the early 1800s that follows a merchant, M. ----, as he travels through a mountainous region and finds a village of poor but faithful Christians.
