"A Daughter of the Forest" by Evelyn Raymond, is a story set in the rugged wilderness, where a young girl, Margot, lives with her guardian, Hugh Dutton, and their housekeeper, Angelique. The peace of their isolated life is broken by a brewing storm that sends Angelique into a panic as Margot is out in a canoe. Dutton risks the storm to find her, showing the strong connection between them. Margot returns safely, but their lives take a turn with the arrival of a stranger named Adrian Wadislaw, setting the stage for a tale of love, loyalty, and the challenges of living in the wild.
